Get outside

There's something for everyone to do in the Poconos, whether it's a sweet Honeymoon, a city getaway, or a chance to experience every adventure that life has to offer, the Poconos is your playground. Like to take it easy and give your body a rest? Try the scenic Lehigh Train Ride and some fishing at the pond after a morning dip in the pool. You're an adrenaline junky you say? Well head on over to the zip lines, ropes courses, and White Water Challengers Rafting to get your fix.

Horseback riding is available through many local businesses here in the Poconos. We recommend our long time friends at Deer Path Stables, who specialize in Horse back riding for the beginner or occasional rider, reservations can be made right across the street!

ROCK CLIMBING

The Delaware Water Gap, The Library, and just 2 hours south of the famous Gunks and Peterskill in New Paltz, the Poconos is a great central location for both top ropers and trad climbers

Believe it or not, the Poconos has some great Disc Golf courses, just like Francis E. Walter Dam's, only a 5 minute drive from your campsite, literally!

Looking to give the D&L Trail a go? The 25 mile path can be ridden right from White Haven (a mile away) all the way to the Jim Thorpe Court House. While you're there, catch the train for a real experience of original Jim Thorpe after you check out the famous old Jail and Asa Packer Mansion.

With White Water Challengers' Main Office just across the street, Lehigh Gorge Campground is a great place to stay when rafting down the Lehigh, or Canoeing and Kayaking down the Delaware river with the Shawnee Inn Recreation Base. Pocono White Water is only 20 minutes as well.

White Haven is home to the Lehigh River and Lehigh Canal, which was used to transport timber. You can still see the remains of these locks on the Lehigh Trail, which starts next to the grocery store. Bushkill Falls as well as a chance to say you were on the Appalachian Trail are also just a short drive away. Want to stay local? Check out Boulder field for your Geological history fix, in Lehigh Gorge State Park.
